Oahu, often known as “The Gathering Place”. It is the third-largest Hawaiian island and is the home to the majority of Hawaii’s diverse population. Here you can find a fusion of East and West cultures rooted in the traditions of the Native Hawaiian people. This significant contrast between the ancient & the contemporary makes Oahu from bustling city life to relaxed surf towns so enjoyable. Its state's capital city is Honolulu which perfectly showcases the island's urban lifestyle.

Travelers can take flight from anywhere in the world to Honolulu International Airport. To go around the city, car rental services are available from the airport and at the downtown location. There are shuttle buses available which run between the Main Overseas Terminal and Interisland Terminal every 15 minutes.

Check out the places where you can visit at Oahu island:

  • Polynesian Cultural Center: It is one of the most visited and a must-visit paid tourist attractions on Oahu island. Here you can explore the culture of Hawaii island and of seven other Polynesian island groups (Samoa, the Marquesas, Fiji, Aotearoa, Tahiti, Tonga, and Rapa Nui).
  • The Bishop Museum: This museum was founded by a Hawaiian princess. It is one of the world's greatest collections of natural and cultural artifacts from Hawaii and the Pacific.
  • Sunset Beach: It is one of the longest-running beaches on Oahu. This beach features several international surf competitions. For swimmers and snorkelers, this is a nice spot to visit during summers. A bike path that runs from Sunset Beach to Waimea Bay is a great way to explore the hidden spots that you cannot see from the main road. A day can be well spent at the North Shore as there is so much to discover.
  • Pearlridge Center on Kamehameha Highway: It is the main shopping mall in Oahu. There are 2 malls with distinct architectural personalities connected via a bridge. The Uptown Pearlridge, attached by Macy's, has a plush, wood-toned decor, whereas the Downtown Pearlridge, attached by Sears, is built around an urban theme.
