St. Barts, or St. Barthelemy, is known for its French sophistication.
All you need to know about the history of St. Barts: Once a French colony, in 1784, St. Barts was traded to Sweden. With Scandinavian ancestry, even today, the island's inhabitants are fair-skinned, blue-eyed blonds. In 1877, the island was controlled by France. Now also their influence can be seen in the chic French boutiques and excellent French restaurants. The island is the residence of France people hence their regional language is French and English both.

Looking for some hillside romantic hideaway or a chic party scene, then St Barts has everything in it. You can find many hotels from basic to luxurious with beach view, you can have it all. Food is never an issue on this island you can enjoy multi-cuisine. It can be Creole, Mediterranean, and Asian cuisines; simple fresh seafood grilled with lemon and olive oil; ceviches mixed with local fruits, and many more.

St. Barts with less population has a relaxing atmosphere in all the 14 white-sand beaches. Petite Anse de Galet, can come under your favorite beaches if you're a shell collector. The beach is named for the tiny shells found on its beaches. Another place, Gustavia, is a picturesque seaport town, named for Swedish King Gustaf III. The tiny fishing village of Corossol retains much of the flavor of a seventeenth-century Norman town--some of the older residents even wear the starched bonnets typical of seventeenth-century Norman peasants.

The island is good for shopping, cruise or various activities. But, it stands back in the row when it is about nightlife. Other Caribbean islands have much better nightlife comparatively. Yet, the nightlife is compensated by day activities which include Scuba diving, boating sailing, yachting and hiking as well.

If you're planning to visit St. Barth island then you must visit from November to June. From December to April, the sun is scorching, you can enjoy having a sunbath. The month of December is considered as the peak season and it may need bookings in advance.
