In his lifetime, Duke Kahanamoku travelled worldwide and introduced people to the Hawaiian lifestyle and the sport of surfing. Duke visited Kauai and enjoyed the beach and bay right out in front of Duke’s Kauai. He was a friend and mentor to Kalapaki Beach’s own legendary Beach Boy, Percy Kinimaka. The restaurant’s open-air design offers stunning, sweeping ocean views while the 30-foot waterfall plunges into a koi pond below that meanders through the tables.
