Within six weeks, Penn listed and sold his townhouse, made an offer to buy a Big Island home and closed on it, packed a 20-ft container with his household belongings, coordinated travel & quarantine requirements for two dogs, drove to Los Angeles with the dogs, shipped his car from Long Beach, scrambled through post 9-11 airport security – ultimately landing in Kona on Oct. 28, 2001.
