Mad Dog's

This is the most skilful and charming reconstruction of a West Indian cottage on Virgin Gorda. The wide veranda and the brightly painted 19th-century wooden timbers and clapboards create a cosy and convivial drink and sandwich bar. The Pina Coladas are divine.

In 1989 Steve Green and Collin McCullough opened a funky little West Indian bar to share drinks and good times with friends, family. Visitors to the Island arrived and found that they too were warmly welcomed. And Mad Dog was born.

Mad Dog became the place to hang, chill, and soak in the incredible vista and the sea beyond. There was no kitchen but good drinks and sandwiches, all at affordable prices. Mad Dog became THE place to come for delicious blended drinks, the famous 3 Decker BLT and very special Pina Coladas. Mad Dog developed an international reputation. You'd see Mad Dog hats and T-shirts walking down the streets of Paris, London and New York.

After many successful years, a wonderful opportunity arose when Steve decided to retire from Mad Dog. Rose Giacinto, owner of Chez Bamboo and Bath & Turtle and Inge Judd, a long time resident of BVI with many years of business experience, began a wonderful and happy joint venture as the new Madness owners Dog. January 2009 was the OPENING DAY. Still no kitchen, still a small funky West Indian bar, still great sandwiches, good drinks. The menu was expanded to include delicious salads and homemade desserts.
