Shopping in Front Street
- Front Street is the buzziest shopping street on the island. It's located 50 meters parallel to the beach in Philipsburg, capital city of the Dutch part of St. Martin or, as we Dutch say, Sint Maarten.

It's a typical tourist shopping street. You can buy tax free articles with emphasis on electronics, jewellery and perfumes and of course the normal tourist articles that any Carribean island can show you but then more focussed on St.Martin. (T-shirts, mugs, etc.) On days that cruise boats have anchored in the harbour (viewing distance) the place is absolutely filled with shoppers who, after shopping in Front Street, can relax on the nice beach.

If you are interested in buying something expensive, you can negotiate about the price. It's easy and within minutes prices can drop! Remember: there's always the next shop where you can buy exactely the same article!

When you're done shopping and lying on the beach and you want some quality wining and dining, take a taxi to the village of Grand Case on the opposite side of the island in the French part. Grand Case has a high concentration of top quality restaurants, many of them on the beachside. Enjoy!
