Welcome To  St. Kitts
The first English settlement in the Leeward Islands, St. Kitts has been called the "mother colony" because it was here that sailing ships began their journey to the other islands of the Caribbean.
Sugarcane plantations, lush rainforests with waterfalls, a dormant volcano, mountainous terrain, and numerous beaches make this an island suitable for any adventure. The sugar-white beaches on the southeastern coast are a favorite with island visitors. Sandy Reef Point has been designated as a National Marine Park. Throughout the island, visitors can see the green velvet monkeys, first brought to the islands by the French as pets.

Long a British subject, St. Kitts became an independent nation in 1983 but still retains a British flavor.
