Golf
To the dismay of many a golfer visiting the US Virgin Islands, St. John does not actually have any courses of its own. Among the US Virgin Islands, St. John is the nature and hiking capital - with two-thirds of its small territory dedicated as a national park, there is very little room for expansive fairways and manicured greens. Fortunately, if you are visiting the US Virgin Islands, St. John is still a beautiful home base; an afternoon on the links is just a quick ferry ride to St. Thomas or flight on an island-hopper to St. Croix away. Of the US Virgin Islands, St. John is the smallest; these two have much more space and count several beautiful 18-hole courses among them. If you'd like to explore beyond the US Virgin Islands, St. John is within a short flight of St. Martin/St. Maarten and Puerto Rico, both of which are home to championship golf courses as well. Even if you're unable to unable to squeeze in a few rounds, the multitude of things to see and do in the US Virgin Islands, St. John included, will have even the most avid golfer forgetting they even brought their clubs.
