Le Tamarin 
Although, as the name indicates, this restaurant serves Vietnamese food, it also has a large and delicious slate of Chinese and Thai selections on the menu. Starched white tablecloths, covered in thick glass, make a nice counterpoint to hanging Chinese lanterns and red decorative fans. The prices are moderate, and the restaurant is well suited for families.

We’ve been going to Restaurant Le Tamarin for many years now, and it has always been one of our favourites on the island — a welcome super casual break between some of the fine dining venues we visit on other evenings.

In speaking with Angelique (spelling?) during our most recent visit, she mentioned calling it quits at the end of this year. Of course, we were devastated to hear the news, but we also understand that she’s ready for a break.

Wondering if anyone has heard similarly from her recently? This conversation was back in late spring. Hoping she changes her mind and maybe finds someone else who can take over for her rather than just closing up shop.
